The Folly of After-Market Customization
Overheard at MacWorld 2006:
CUSTOMER: “So tell me about these … things.”
BOOTH GUY: “They’re made of silicone! They’re covers for your iMac G5!”
CUSTOMER: “Like the iPod covers.”
Both pause, silently acknowledging the difference between covering a (portable) iPod and covering a (stationary) iMac.
BOOTH GUY: “Yes, like the iPod covers.”
Both pause again. CUSTOMER runs a finger over the square cut-out around the Apple logo.
BOOTH GUY: “They come in white!”
